Second Front Systems is proud to announce that we have been selected to be included in the NatSec100 list of the top venture-funded defense and dual-use tech startups. This recognition is a testament to our commitment to innovation, national security, and the transformative potential of advanced modern technology.
Created by the Silicon Valley Defense Group (SVDG) in collaboration with Franklin Templeton and Balyasny Asset Management, the NatSec100 list was developed to offer a data-driven snapshot of the evolving technology-security ecosystem. It highlights the crucial role that private sector innovation plays in U.S. national security.
The companies included in the NatSec100 list have collectively raised $42 billion in funding to date, yet they have only secured between $2 and $5 billion in revenue from the federal government. This discrepancy serves as a call to action for policy makers as the private sector is vital to national security, and without substantial contracts from government customers these companies will either fail or pivot toward commercial markets.
Second Front recognizes the role that sustained contracts from government customers play in the success of defense-focused and dual-use startups. We remain committed to forging strong collaborations with the Department of Defense and the intelligence community, fostering an ecosystem that encourages the continued viability of the defense innovation landscape.
