New unified business unit brings implementation, mission success, and federal and commercial go-to-market under one leader, while finance and operations consolidate company-wide under a single executive
WASHINGTON, DC, October 15, 2026 / Business Wire / Second Front (2F), a public-benefit software company powering software for the free world, today announced two executive promotions that change how it serves customers. Nick Woodruff has been promoted to General Manager, North America, leading a newly unified business unit. Tony Goodnough has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Finance and Operations.
The new structure mirrors the flywheel 2F has built in the market. Consolidating implementation, mission success, and federal and commercial go-to-market into one business unit brings tighter alignment from first conversation to deployment, more velocity in getting customers into production, and the capacity to scale as demand grows.
“Commercial companies, federal customers and mission owners all want the same thing from us: capability in real environments, fast,” said Tyler Sweatt, CEO and Chairman of Second Front. “That takes one team, accountable end to end. Nick has lived both sides of this problem: in uniform, waiting on capability, and in industry, delivering it. I couldn’t be more confident in him leading this team. Tony knows what it takes to scale. He’s building the operational lever that keeps us accelerating. Speed of relevance is a choice. This is how we make it.”
Woodruff was promoted from Executive Vice President and Head of U.S. Government, the role he took on when he joined 2F in February 2026. As General Manager, North America, he now leads implementation and support, mission success, and both federal and commercial go-to-market. Woodruff spent more than 13 years in the U.S. Army and Special Operations before moving into leadership roles in defense technology. Prior to Second Front, he was Chief Growth Officer at Research Innovations Incorporated (RII), where he helped grow the company past $130 million in revenue, expand internationally, and establish RII across more than 15 programs of record within the DOW and the Intelligence Community.
“Every handoff between teams is time an operator spends waiting on capability,” said Woodruff. “We’re taking those handoffs out. One team now owns the customer from the first conversation through authorization, deployment and every renewal after. I’m proud to lead the people doing that work, and I’m confident they’ll continue to make 2F the fastest path from commercial innovation to the mission.”
Goodnough joined 2F in January 2026 as Vice President of Finance. In his expanded role, he oversees finance, talent, people, revenue operations, and investor relations, the company-wide functions that support every part of 2F. Goodnough brings more than 16 years of experience in finance, analytics, strategy and operations. He previously served as Vice President of Finance, Strategy and Operations at Nasuni. During his tenure, Nasuni scaled past $150 million in ARR, expanded into more than 70 countries, and secured strategic investment that valued the company at more than $1 billion.
“Customers may never see our operations, but they feel them in how fast we move and how ready our teams are when it counts,” said Goodnough. “Bringing finance, talent, people and revenue operations together lets us run 2F with the same rigor we ask of ourselves on every deployment, and gives every team at 2F a foundation built to scale.”
Both appointments are effective immediately. Together, they position 2F to scale its impact as more commercial companies bring their technology to the national security mission.
